Born from the Craziness of Lockdown!

Updated: Dec 7, 2020

Magpie Marketing was born from the craziness of lockdown, seven months in (yes 7 months) concerned about work and wondering whether companies can survive, got me thinking about what to do if my employer goes under?

What skills do I have, will I have to move, am I too old, what would I really like to do? I'm sure we've all been there!

With decades of experience, knowledge of different sectors, getting the best from poor websites because, the boss says 'new ones are expensive', overseeing Google Ads (formerly AdWords) campaigns and seeing the money disappear! I've got the experience and want to pass on my knowledge, to 'Help Businesses Achieve More' for their money!

I've spent a lot of time in lockdown, studying to get those bits of paper to back up the knowledge you have, just in case a new employer asks for evidence that you know what you're talking about. You may have been doing the job for the last 5 years, but how else do you prove it?

I feel that Magpie Marketing should be a little different to others, I've worked in finance, travel and the charity sector, I've knowledge in many aspects of business: customer service, sales, HR, strategic planning, marketing....... and I'm happy to share my experience with you, if it will help.

I've seen thousands of pounds wasted on websites, that have the same faults as the one they replace, but they look a bit prettier!

I've heard about Yell websites being expensive to set up, to maintain and you don't even own it!

And the pushy companies that ring you nearly everyday and will create you a generic website that doesn't deliver results.

I want your business to succeed as much as you do, I want to give value for money; your marketing has to deliver measurable results and I know how quickly Google Ads can spend your precious budget!

So here we are at the start of my freelance business, my aim is to work with small businesses (or charities) and give them value for money, help them grow and hopefully they will recommend us!
